I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Bazzite (and Linux in general) is fricking amazing.

Just built a new gaming PC for linux only. After test running Linux Mint on my old PC for almost a year I ditched Windows for good. Now Bazzite is the second distro I tried and Games run great, I play coop titles with my friends all the time and apart from a handful of anti cheat titles everything just works. I do not need to tinker, I do not use the terminal or do advanced stuff. Highly recommend.

I needed to hear that, actually. Thanks lol.

I intended to look pretty hard at swapping to Linux this year since they’re stopping security updates for Win10. I guess now I know exactly what flavor of Linux to grab.

been using the hell out of bazzite (and bluefin at work), myself. It’s terrific. it does come with the usual caveat about AAA games with anticheat often won’t work but otherwise I don’t think much about even checking to see if a game will run.

Damn, are they going cross platform or something? Is the Windows Xbox app coming to Linux? How else are they gonna get my steam games in there?

This is probably in preparation for the handheld and the new Xbox which supposedly will be a literal PC. If MS can sell me a PC that performs like the series X and runs Steam for $500 I’m buying it no questions asked.

JFC, I just finished up-grading my daughter’s desktop and setting up all her games. The only things I’ve downloaded from the Microsoft store were so I could retrieve her Xbox game-saves and import them to Steam or GOG-versions of those games.

Shit like this is gonna drive us to Bazzite sooner rather than later, and no, I do NOT mean “SteamOS”.

Isn’t that misleading the consumer? They will think the games are Xbox games and not Steam games. They will come to resent the 2nd launcher, aka Steam, and Microsoft’s EEE will be complete.

Feels like anyone that confused would have a really hard time buying Steam games in the first place…

If you’re presented your Steam games from inside Xbox app, they will present asa game from the Xbox service.

Buying games from Steam is braindead simple, so not sure what you’re on about there. Can’t get much simpler than punch in billing and CC info once, add games to cart and checkout; subsequent purchases is even easier.

I was wondering when microsoft would start putting the screws to steam.

Mark my words, soon it’ll be a requirement to have the xbox app to run your steam stuff ( or smth similar )
