I never understood why we were appeasing him in the first place. Yes, fentanyl is a problem on both sides but always felt it was each country’s responsibility to control and manage their own border - It’s your border. It’s your problem!

More fentanyl comes up than is caught headed down. The fentanyl problem feels like it’s blown way out of proportion in order to justify the use of emergency powers to enact tariffs without going through congress.

Of course it’s blown out of proportion! That’s the whole point - declaring a national emergency is merely to place tariffs on us Canadians. It’s an outright lie and everyone knows it!

Our border is a disaster, the amount of guns and drugs that enters Canada is probably unprecedented in global terms.

This is not a “both sides” issue, the US is flooding us with trash then telling us we’re the problem.

My theory is Trump wants Canada’s border more secure so border agents can return anyone fleeing the states and his rule back into his control.

Yup, members of the Heritage Foundation have talked about making massive camp systems in Canada. I imagine it would be largely for Canadians and deported Americans and migrants.
