Empire has been fixated on Iran for centuries, especially since Iran escaped imperial rule in their revolution. The republican party loves to yap about bombing Iran, etc. Trump’s rhetoric about Iran is really aggressive and wild. It wound up more generally with racism, imperialism, fascism, etc.

The dems are more about liberal fascism. There’s not so much overt racism. There’s no so much over warmongering. They’re willing to “make a deal”. Obama made the nuclear deal, then Trump cancelled it out of spite… Etc.

For anyone dipping their toes into Linux for the first time Ubuntu is by far and large the best place for them to start.

This was true maybe 10 years ago but not any more.

For example, the default gnome desktop is terrible. You have to install gnome tweaks to adjust anything. It requires some Chrome plugin… It’s an impossible chore for a n00b to increase the font size. Likewise with other simple adjustments.

I don’t care that the server is controlled by Canonical. Most Flatpaks are on Flathub and it’s not a problem.

If flathub became a problem, people could easily and openly switch another server.

Last I checked Ubuntu Pro is free for personal use on up to 5 machines.

It’s not free. It’s traded for your personal information.

B/c you’re using ubuntu. I switched to debian and I don’t have to deal with this snap/apt nonsense. In fact I’ve gained flatpaks in the software UI.
