Eh, it’s over a billion people. Most people (who don’t live in cities) don’t know about Trump other than the fact that he’s the president. Even those who have internet aren’t going to see US news cuz their feeds aren’t curated for that.

Also WhatsApp logs a bunch of metadata (who you contact, how often, profile pic, etc)
Sell it to Canonical
Spinning off AOSP into something like Mozilla would massively boost its appeal. I myself left android cuz of privacy issues (no I can’t use GrapheneOS, I need access to my banking apps).
Exactly, even minus the Nazi thing they are terrible products. And they’ve been terrible for a while. The only good things were the first mover advantage, battery tech and supercharger network.
Meanwhile the competitors like BYD have caught up.
Trump’s America has long crossed the Rubicon. He will continue to only double down, as any dictator does.
America and the world (except for the Neo Axis powers) will continue to suffer. Unless by some miracle democracy still functions in US.
They really rushed the AI part cuz let’s face it, iOS hasn’t really innovated in a while. They typically wait for other makers to make a new thing (i.e. the swipe down to access settings in android), then take a few years to polish it.
Samsung and Google have been building AI models for a while, cuz they had access to tons of data. Post ChatGPT release Apple realised it’s suddenly light years behind its competitors. So yeah, this is likely the most half baked product Apple has ever released. Similar Apple Maps, but shouldn’t have advertised entire phones on these half baked feature.
I mean WhatsApp is already E2E encrypted. Meta doesn’t make money off WhatsApp (only WhatsApp business). Any IM service that’s big in MAU (monthly active users) costs big money in server traffic. Me using WhatsApp costs Zuck money. In return the only data he can sell is about my metadata (i.e. how often I contact someone etc). For normal usage I think WhatsApp is more than ok. However if you’re worried about govt snooping cuz you’re a journalist or some such then yeah, switch to Session.
Yeah, but all my friends use Splitwise so sich with it. Network effect is a real b*tch. (P.S: Dunno about swearing rules here).
Oh yeah I used this last year for a trip after I raised Splitwise only has 5 free transactions you can record per day.
Not to mention the fact that a bunch of banking apps won’t work on LineageOS. You can try magisk as a workaround for some, but others just won’t.
We don’t need to start with big products such as phones. Start small, such as moving off to a new email for personal use. Keep the gmail one for junk use (i.e: when signing up to services). Ask your closest friends to switch to Signal instead of WhatsApp. Use Firefox instead of Chrome (you can import all your browser settings). This process will take years and shouldn’t simply be a knee jerk reaction).
You can also use ChatGPT without login.
The Donald has Hitler levels of luck in that regard.
Yeah HP’s recent elite book is unfortunately popular with businesses. My office got them when we were about to be issued. Everyone complained, so they decided to move back to Dell for standard issue. Unfortunately I’m stuck with HP for next few years.
They need to get off Twitter. Go back to using the Press for official statements of high importance. And use Mastodon (Bluesky can interact with Mastodon instances in the future iirc) for rest. As a longer term project, move govt systems to Linux.
Yeah I’m a bit tired of bought out politicians dismantling a country from the inside.
Probably the biggest loophole that HAS to be fixed!
