This depends on what you want. Sourcehut reminds me of old CVS UIs and it is heavily influenced by its author’s needs, which are not exactly mainstream. I’d recommend Forgejo if you want something that looks and feels more like Github.

I don’t hate AI-created images. I hate the insane amounts of energy required for current AI models. I hate that it’s the same rich assholes who control everything also controlling AI. I hate that they monopolize access to models trained on all our work. And I hate that it will be these rich assholes benefiting from humans being put out of work by AI. Because this will happen on some scale.
If it were free, I’d love AI. Because it allows people who aren’t artists to create stuff. And lowering the barrier of entry on art is always good, in my opinion.
Damn, that is like satire.
Well, I’ve always been curious what a ruthless person would do with all that DNA data. I’ll finally find out.
A passport costs 165 dollaroos? Damn. And I thought the 70 Euro we have to pay was excessive.
A song by post-hardcore band Frodus.
That’s not a combination of words I expected to see today.
Yes. Absolutely. But I see where the appeal comes from. A few years ago I bought some Bitcoin for 50 Euro. A year later it doubled in value. That was nice. And that was moderate compared to when I first got Bitcoin and it was as cheap as dirt and suddenly it’s worth 70k. With the world in the grips of the billionaire class people get desperate for even a chance at moderate wealth. It’s a sad symptom of the fucked up world we’re living in.
Did they get a Toy Yoda as a consolation prize?
Absolutely. But in this case the law is also shit and needs to be reformed. I still want to see Altman fail, because he’s an asshole. But copyright law in its current form is awful and does hold back society.
I totally agree. Patents and copyright have their place, but through greed they have been morphed into monstrous abominations that hold back society. I also think that if you build your business on crawled content, society has a right to the result to a fair price. If you cannot provide that without the company failing, then it deserves to fail because the business model obviously was built on exploitation.
Okay, grandpa, maybe enough internet for you today.
So many terrorists.
Yeah, but back then they still had elections.
