  • I’m prepared to be downvoted to oblivion over this but… I don’t think it’s a pile of dead bodies and here’s a bunch of reasons why.

I feel I need a disclaimer like: I’m not an idiot, I have grave concerns for the inmates and CECOT and I’m certain that many have already perished due to violence between inmates or malnutrition or even violence from guards, however… I just don’t think this is a pile of dead bodies.

    • It’s never aliens - Sensational blurry images are never what people think they are. You know, the face on mars, et cetera.

    • There are so many more likely things - It could be a pile of chairs, or uniforms, or boxes, or a tarpaulin.

    • They wouldn’t make a pile of bodies for us to see - This thing is a cash cow for Bukele. They will be doing their best not to fuck it up. Any idiot would know that if you make a big pile of dead bodies oozing blood outside it will show up on some pesky satellite images.

    • They wouldn’t make a pile of bodies outside in the sun - A dead body is a logistically challenging thing to deal with. A pile of dead bodies even more so. Leaving them in the sun even just for several hours would make the whole thing so much worse. The decomp gasses in the digestive tract would make all the dead bodies shit themselves.

    • Industrialised Killing Takes a Toll - Admittedly I don’t know a lot about this but the nazis learned killing too many people in a repetitive waymakes a soldier “undisciplined” or unmanageable. I don’t want to go into detail but they set up a system where the same soldier never saw the same person alive and then dead. If they were systematically killing inmates this wouldn’t be the system.

  • God this is tedious.

Of those 65% you’re describing as “lactose intolerant”, only a small percentage would suffer symtoms commonly associated with lactose intolerance deleterious enough to make flavored oily water a better source of nutrition than cows milk.

In any case, while I look forward to your parting salvo of blistering intellect and insight, I believe I have said all I care to regarding grain-based milk substitutes for the time being. Good day.

  • Doesn’t the message you received basically say the graphene devs don’t want it discussed in /r/privacy ?

If I were involved in a project with any sort of following I wouldn’t want it discussed in a large, general, subreddit either. If it is, you either need to engage with people there to minimise any misinformation, or you just have to let people spread nonsense about your product.

That said, asking why /r/privacy exists when the devs of privacy-related projects don’t want to participate is a good question. The answer is, the mods are fief lords who would rather preside over a sham than nothing at all.

Honestly, I can’t think of any good reason to be a moderator of /r/privacy on reddit

  • Of course proper milk is superior to oat milk.

If you were stuck on a desert island and could have an infinite supply of either it would be an absurdity to choose the oat milk over cows milk.

It’s true that cows milk is intended for calves and it’s probably not advisable for an adult human to consume exclusively cows milk, but it’s an absurdity to claim that cows milk is less nutritionally valuable than oat milk.

Oats have been domesticated by humans over a few short millennia because of their ease of cultivation and longevity in storage. Lets not conflate convenience with nutritional quality. Besides which oat milk doesn’t contain much in the way of oats anyway.
