Nah, all of it will be followed through. He’ll be a dictator and just do it. Only reason he didn’t full do all the other stuff he whined about last time was some checks and balances he had to fight against to do them.

Lol yah, its clear they all want to be dictators, ya know who says, “I was promised total control?” Dictators.
I was just leaning into the ‘weird’ framing, since they seem to fucking hate it.
Even the normal stuff they say isn’t normal. No CEO comes into a company and is like “hey, I heard I was promised to have total control of this company!” They say “I’m hoping to be effective leader and hope together we can, blah, blah, blah”
No sane person comes into a position like that and says the quiet part out loud “day 1, I was promised total control of public health agencies!”
Very weird indeed.
The classic ‘I don’t care how horrible this person or view is’ until it affects them ‘on noooo, I realized he’s terrible! Now I get to seem like an enlightened white Knight, warning others of obvious flaws I decided not to see!’
I bet if the joke was about Mexicans they wouldn’t have cared, because it’s not them.
Not the most annoying, but the most stupid and simple: The fact that even in windows 10 (not sure about 11), you couldn’t set custom keyboard shortcuts for volume up and down. I have had the right Ctrl+shift+up/down arrows bound to the volume up/down, since i started using Linux as my desktop fulltime over 10 years ago, and windows still won’t let you do that out of the box.
Lol ya had me in the first half…
Also to pull out their phrase from 20 years ago: “Support the Troops!”
Lol fair enough.
You seems to not grasp why people don’t like the mouse charging design. Yes you can do all of those things you mentioned and its probably fine. Why people hate it though? Apple is forcing you to use their products the way they want you to. You’re changing your whole workflow to bend to their will. That’s why people hate it. Not that it’s a problem, but that you now have to mess around and take 15 minutes out or your day waiting for a mouse to charge instead of… Just plugging in a cable to a port, positioned in a sane way, the top side of the mouse!
But instead, people make up excuses and are totally fine having a corporation tell them “go get some coffee, because of our design decisions, you can’t use your product right now…”
Like, its just a weird, stupid, petty design decision. Imagine if your laptop wouldn’t charge while you used it, while every other laptop can. Sure it can have amazing battery life, but the 1 time it dies, you have to stop your work, and wait for it to charge, before using the laptop again all because someone said ‘nah, I don’t want the user to be able to use the product that way.’
Again, its stupid and petty.
Remember the “support the troops”? And then the same party turned around and denied healthcare to the 9/11 responders, years later after everyone had forgotten…
Everyone thinks they’ll be in the ‘in group’ with a dictator. The only ‘in group’ is the dictator themselves. As you said, over time the ‘in group’ gets smaller and smaller. Really frustrating how people still champion this shit on thinking they’ll be in the special group too!
Here’s an example on the bigger items: I bought a used car that was 4 years old when I bought, I’ve since owned it for 14 years, so it’s 18 years old. Yes its starting to fall apart and I should probably buy a new one soon, but in the timespan that I’ve owned a single car, my brother has bought and sold something like 7 cars.
Just the shear amount of stuff I see people buying around me all the time, is insane.
