pretty sure Republicans care about counterpoints if their counterpoint to “Republicans are shutting down the govt” is “them illegals!”. The correct reply is “your kids!”
That’s the counterpoint. The data shows that it was already illegal for “illegals” to vote and there are no reported cases of it. However, there are hundreds of cases of republicans using this law to prevent (your) college students from voting. If you have a son or daughter away at college, do they have their birth certificate with them so they can register to vote?
The Republicans are trying to prevent college students from voting with this bill.
6% is low and 3% is lower
SteamOS is immutable, you always get the same update no matter what you were running before. I think the only files that can get out of sync are in your home folder.
The issue is that Israel is an apartheid state, as understood by the UN. It’s one thing if civilians on annexed territory had equal rights as Israeli citizens, but instead civilians are treated inhumanely in violation of international law. Civilians are tried in military court, evicted from their homes by occupying settlers, and generally do not have equal rights under the law.
It is a concerted effort not just to annex territory, but also to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from occupied land. Ethics regarding annexation aside, the war in Israel isn’t about simple annexation.
You’re describing genocide. That is not what is happening in Kursk.
See article 49 of the Geneva convention:

Civilians, by definition, do not “willingly engage in a war”.
Major projection going on from Jizzy Daybed. When he says this stuff, it sounds like he was really miserable at his venture capital job, and that his escape was reassuring himself with his value system, saying “at least I’m a manly man, unlike these other feminine elites”. God forbid he embraces his feminine side and spends time with his family.
Weirdo who can only talk about his ideal vision for women, invasions from China, and how every black and brown person is a violent conman.
Unraid is bad at NAS and bad at docker. Go with a separate Nas and application server.
Holy shit I didn’t realize you could buy root beer concentrate, this is amazing. I’m totally stocking up next time I’m in the US.
Is there a way for me to be “notified” if shell access of any form is gained by someone?
Falco is a very powerful tool for this.
Bottle deposit systems are generally effective. In Sweden, 90-95% of the pet plastic in drink bottles makes it back to a factory to be used as raw material for new bottles. We don’t really recycle the hdpe lids or polyester labels, though.
Kinda depends on the context, but it’s probably convenient to consider the president, VP, and heads of departments as “the cabinet”. The VP attends the staff meetings and is part of the leadership of the white house. In parliamentary systems, they use the term “ruling government” instead of cabinet, which includes the ministers, prime minister, and vice prime minister.
These tax credits need to be conditional on zoning reform in the neighborhood or we’re not going to fix anything.
This looks super useful! Would be interesting to see this as a systemd service built into NixOS, so my gaming machine could always have this running without any manual steps.
Pretty interesting tech. Here in Sweden I believe the majority of (sorted) plastic waste goes into incinerators which generate heat for district heating for homes and businesses.
We do have bottle deposits in Sweden too though which means that 85% of clear drink bottles sold are generally able to be shredded into >96% pure PET and resold to bottle factories. (though green PET bottles, HDPE bottle caps, and polyester labels are not yet recyclable). Unfortunately bottle return rates are on a downward trend, I suspect this is due to the fact that deposits haven’t increased with inflation and are still sitting at around 0.1-0.2€. These deposits will probably have to be increased to 0.2-0.4€ per bottle to prevent Sweden’s plastic waste from increasing more, but considering that the current conservative government in Sweden just eliminated taxes on plastic bags, I don’t see it happening any time soon. Conservative voters are too quick to complain when they have to share the cost of their plastic waste.
Aren’t Biden’s refugee camps still resulting in family separation? I haven’t been informed of any changes on US immigration procedure changes since Trump.
Plastic recycling is literally a scam. It doesn’t exist, but companies will sell it anyways.
If you’re not depositing PET bottles at the supermarket, the best case scenario for single-use plastic is that it gets burned for electricity like the rest of the 11 million tons of oil we burn every year.
His coaching from his campaign is showing through. They desperately want him to be the law and order candidate, “weathering the storm from the militant left”, but he just can’t help but attack the left and encourage further violence. He will sabotage his own campaign and image if he starts encouraging violence here.
