Wait, purposely excluding sizable segments of the market led to less sales? No way. Someone should note this down.

But if I use upscaling, I don’t have to optimize my game and can do less work and charge more money!

This is classic Japan “don’t harm public morals” grand standing. Japanese culture puts on a good mask to show everyone else how good and clean they are, but go take a look at their fan mangas and old video games and that mask doesn’t just come off, it flings itself off like a pinball from the plunger runway.
I like Japan, but they really gotta get a grip on some stuff. Particularly this “public morals” facade, their awful defamation laws, their work culture, and their insistence on allowing Japanese businesses to attempt to apply Japanese laws in jurisdictions and countries that the laws do not and can not apply.
If they don’t come with a heatsink, they’re usually fine to run without a heatsink. Just check reviews for the ssd to see if they have overheating issues.
I haven’t found m2 ssds to get very hot, personally. Only when copying extremely large files or big amounts of files that take longer than 10 or so minutes I have seen temperatures in the 60s ©, but usually its down near 50 or less.
All remakes of beloved classics should be “almost too faithful”.
Old Dell workstation. You probably won’t be able to play anything from the last 10 years, but other than that you can probably play it. Those old workstations are like $150 USD usually, sometimes $200.
EDIT: Didnt see you mention you already have a Steam Deck. For something comparable, you will probably end up paying the same or only slightly less, not worth it IMO. Just stay on Steam Deck for now.
Making Skyrim look like it was modded by Puritans from the 1400s.
Only looking at FPS games, specifically only shooters here. Note this is leaving out other first person games that I play on occasion such as Morrowind and Arx Fatalis.

If they actually think they’re going to release this game a second time and it’ll work, they’re morbin. It’ll be exactly like Morbius. Another release just to flop a second time.
This game would probably require another 8 years of reworking it to be a game people want to play. Just make something new, something different. Maybe make something that has an art style and characters that are more appealing.
I mean, GTX cards were also powering AI before RTX…
I give this one less than a year like all the other ones.
I will potentially not buy it then.
How many times do we have to teach these companies this lesson? Anti-piracy DRM never stops pirates, it only causes harm to legitimate paying customers. Pirates get the objective better experience playing a game with DRM removed because they not only get the game for free, but it performs better than the version people pay for. Why pay money for something that is objectively worse than getting it for free?
Happy that all 83 people who bought the game on Steam will be able to talk only positively about the game or risk being banned due to a comment being mistaken for criticism 👍
Definitely didn’t see this coming /s
Wish they would have done the same with Silent Hill 2 remake.
Good, the only thing activists have proven they can do for businesses in recent years is lose them billions of dollars and destroy their reputation. Hopefully more businesses catch on and we can get back to getting actually decent products again.
Business decisions have to be made with logic only, not emotion. The two do not mix.
Yeah, they’re still connected to the project though. Its not a good look regardless.
Wow, that’s a lot of pandering to Sony in that article. The author obviously doesn’t want to say what the game actually is like for fear of being negative and losing company-wide access to Sony game review copies.
The game isn’t bad, but I am hesitant to call it good
Just say it. I will say it, because I don’t care about losing access to Sony review copies:
The game is bad. Its not fun, it’s in an oversaturated market, the character designs are pretty ugly, the whole game is uninspired. Its like a bootleg Guardians of the Galaxy for its character design and bootleg mobile Overwatch for the gameplay. It does nothing to actually improve on the hero shooter gameplay that has existed for 10+ years.
Perhaps if the game came out like 8 or 10 years ago and had actually good looking character designs it maybe could have been successful. Maybe. But as it stands there is no reason to play this instead of already existing hero shooters like Overwatch and Paladins.
EDIT: It also really doesn’t help when the developers call people that criticize the game “talentless freaks.”
If it was overspecced before, then that means it was using parts more expensive than it needed to. Nobody makes RAM that is slower and also more expensive for the same capacity. Logically, this should translate to lowered prices for the GPUs using the cheaper parts.
The lawsuit is about patents, not copyrighted designs.
