I think what stands out to me is the growing use of legislative power to stop strikes and remove negotiating power from unions. The most recent major example being the then pending rail strike back in 2022.
Sure Trump will be 10x worse, but the Dems really haven’t done enough to address the health and safety of these people, and to protect them from growing corporate exploitation.

Actually, thinking about it, it really is freezing, isn’t it? If you took some liquid water and just let it out into space, wouldn’t it eventually freeze? It’d just take a really long time.

I’ve got to agree with this. I love Linux and have run it on my servers for years. That said, I’ve got Mint on my laptop and tried to print an image over wifi at a friend’s place and could not for the life of me get it to print properly.
For the most part things do just work, but there are a lot more “obscure” scenarios that are handled correctly in windows but not Linux.
I also find that when things go wrong on Linux, they are harder to fix. I’ve had several times I’ve had to deal with circular dependency hell to get something to install properly. I did eventually get those problems resolved, but it was often a single person having a tangential problem that hinted me to how to solve it.
Edit: I think if your usage patterns are straight forward enough, it is by far and away the better choice. If you do the same stuff all the time, it’ll pretty much never break, which is not something I could say about windows. So for OP, it sounds like it would be a good fit.

And the same should be applied to reading social media comments as well. Most people are willing to talk out of their ass about subjects they don’t thoroughly understand. That doesn’t mean all social media comments are useless, though. It just means you have to critically evaluate what you read.
Same with LLM’s. They can provide useful information about and overviews of various topics, but it’s important to understand their limitations and especially that they’re prone to hallucinations. They shouldn’t be used as any sort of authority on a subject, but make for a decent starting point.
