Our elites don‘t care, apparently. Israel can do whatever it wants. Maybe an actual nuke would elicit a somewhat more strong response.

The general atmosphere here is, though. There’s still lots of US defaultism over here.
Is Merz next to welcome this beacon of humanity?
Has Weidel been convicted? Wilders has indeed because he called for ethnic cleansing of Moroccans.
It’s now clear she won’t be allowed to run in 2027, and she’s sentenced to two years in jail.
EDIT: four years in jail, of which two years ‘suspended’ (not sure how I should translate ‘voorwaardelijk’ here.
That remains to be seen… I really don’t have a clue what would happen if Trump would really give the command to attack Greenland, noone really can know I think.
Like with Ukraine you’d think if attack plans were really serious and in an advanced stage, European leaders would be aware. Though with Ukraine it was the US warning of Russian troop buildups…
America doesn’t need Russia to be an old-fashioned imperialist.
You don’t mean this, do you? The EU attacking the military on which their individual armies depend, the greatest military of the largest economy on earth, would be incomprehensibly stupid. It’s utter fantasy, anyway. A dystopian fantasy that would involve more Europeans dying than Americans, that is if it wouldn’t devolve into nuclear war.
EDIT: not sure why I’m being downvoted for commenting on a fantasy of violence. I don’t think „please start World War III” is fun banter, sorry.

This isn’t the first time the US has felt it ‘needed’ others’ lands.
All eyes are on Russia, the far larger American threat - not passively, in them not helping, but actively in them opposing us - doesn’t nearly get the attention it deserves.
The US hasn’t done anything militarily aggressive yet. There is every reason to believe this will change, considering they are openly threatening as much (Trump saying he wants to take Greenland, still part of Denmark, by force if necessary).
Russia, with a GDP the size of the Benelux, hasn’t even been able to conquer Ukraine, and I have to believe they’d be able to take on the European Union?
Meanwhile, the US, the world’s largest economy, has military bases all over the EU, the EU militaries by and large depend on the US and they are openly threatening us.
Which is more dangerous?
America is a much greater danger to us than Russia ever will be.
Yeah, everyone should stock up on a year’s supply of food, at the very least.
That’s how long a war will likely last, anyway.
They’ll have to yell „Peng! Peng!” instead of actually firing their guns to save on munition, though.
What do you mean? Are you telling me you don’t have a portrait of Ursula in your livingroom?
The scenario I was responding to implied the US would wait and see „how long it takes Putin to get to Western Europe”, at least that’s how I read it.
And the answer is: he wouldn’t ever reach Western Europe. Not in a million years. It’s simply fantasy.
That’s a lot of pieces ’till Western Europe, which was the scenario I was responding to. And, while I have very little faith in our politicians, they’re not complete imbeciles. An attack on an EU country will certainly lead to an even stronger push towards unification than is the case now already, with just threatening words (from Trump, though - not Putin).
It’s Americans protesting abroad, if I understand correctly. ‘We’re all living in America’ syndrome is real, but I don’t think this is an example of that.
