You went off to a different country and things are much different.

In the US, generally, parents by retirement age have paid for their homes by then, have retired with benefits from their employer that will give them some money every month, have social security that also pays them every month (both of these are taken out of each paycheck throughout their career lives) and don’t have many bills.

So by the time they’re old, if they were responsible and held ok jobs, they should need money less than you need it. Our US system is basically set up to make you work hard for 40 ish years and then you’re taken care of when you’re old, for the most part. If your parents need money and you have money to give, there’s nothing wrong or against it. It’s still a common thing. But ideally, doing that shouldn’t be needed.

You’re interpreting what you read a bit incorrectly.

The rope was tied above on the tree and an end wrapped around his neck, with no knot. Nothing tied around a trunk. The wrapped end around his neck was holding up the bulk of his weight, but he was close enough to the ground that at least his feet were touching.

The whole thing sounds like he did it to himself, either on purpose as a suicide, or on accident as a sex thing.

Yeah, it’s a straight up fact that cats and dogs are eaten in parts of Asia. That isn’t a stereotype at all. It’s well known and very documented.

Ok. It’s possible. But what’s more likely? Suicide outpaces murder by 2.5 times, and suicide for truckers is even higher. Plus, how he was describes as being found sounds like auto erotic asphyxiation. Feet on ground, rope not tied.

Suicide rate is 2.5 times more likely than murder. There’s currently no reason to not believe them.

I say this because if there wasn’t footage of him buying it, not mentioning it would be the obvious way to go if you were trying to cover up possible foul play. Saying there is footage though; footage that never gets produced screams the opposite.

So if the footage didn’t exist, they never would have even hinted that it does.

My primary is a prius and I’ve done auto work and tech repairs for like 25 years now.

I’m not buying an all electric EV, yet. They’re still wasteful and heavy and the battery tech isn’t quite good enough. EV’s pretty much have a life of 15 years on them (after going through tires faster) and then off to the junkyard once the battery goes out. I have high hopes for the solid state batts from Samsung hitting some production EV’s in 2027, though. Lighter, faster to charge, and longer lifespans. Until that, I’m sticking to hybrids, where the battery is less than 100 pounds, cost a few grand instead of $15,000 and you can swap one out at home in an afternoon with no special/expensive equipment.

There are 50,000 suicides a year in the US and only 22,000 murders, but y’all suspect it’s more likely a guy with his feet on the ground, a rope not even tied, no defensive wounds, and a rope he bought himself, is a murder victim instead of the far outnumbering suicides.

Read between the lines, from what they revealed.

The rope was wrapped around his neck and not tied together.

The guy was doing some self choking to get off. His “safety” was thinking that if he blacked out the rope would drop off him, but it didn’t work.
