Man there is so much smoke-copium in this thread, it annoys me to no end.

People shouldn’t be allowed to smoke in public and they should be forced to pay for the cost of their own healthcare if they develop any disease that has even a minimal chance of being related to smoking.

Edt: for sure is right to have mercy on them when they realize it was a mistake, but they still should be penalized to some degree, they did that to them selves while in their right mind.

Healthcare shouldn’t be conditional, it should be free at the point of use, no exceptions. You start drawing lines, you’re only gonna cause harm

Everyone above 14 knows how dangerous smoking is. Doesn’t make it less cool. Tbh it probably makes it more cool to most people.

This campaign is about as stupid as it gets.

It basically points out the only legit positive thing about smoking which is the fact that it looks cool.

In many countries that have socialised healthcare smokers on average contribute 2 to 3 times what their healthcare costs the government in taxes on cigarettes alone over their lifetime. So I mean… you’re welcome.

forced to pay for the cost of their own healthcare if they develop any disease that has even a minimal chance of being related to smoking.

Fun fact: smokers on average die much younger than non-smokers, and so end up being cheaper over a lifetime vs. the amount they pay into the system than non-smokers.

So the next time you see a smoker who’s on the same health plan as you, you can thank them, knowing their self-inflicted early demise will likely end up lowering costs on your plan.

Even more fun fact - same with the obese: a heart attack or stroke at 45 is way cheaper than paying for all the end-of-life healthcare healthier people are more likely to get in their 60s-70s when half of them aren’t even working anymore, lazy PoSs.

Really makes me reconsider how I think about those selfish in-shape non-smoker bastards who won’t just smoke or overeat so they die young and make my healthcare cheaper
