Summary

Donald Trump and Republicans plan to target progressive nonprofits, researchers, and civil society groups in his second term, raising concerns of authoritarianism, according to the Congressional Integrity Project.

Potential actions include politically motivated investigations, IRS scrutiny, and restrictive legislation, with nominees like Billy Long (IRS) and Pam Bondi (attorney general) aligning with these goals.

Efforts mirror the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, aimed at silencing dissent.

In response, CIP launched the Civic Defense Project to defend progressive groups and counter perceived abuses of power. Critics warn this could undermine democracy and stifle dissent.

I fucking can’t stand this. It was political to NOT enforce the law.

The lesson I’ve learned is that if I plan on committing federal crimes, I need to first form a PAC for president.
