Summary
Canadian lawmaker Charlie Angus criticized Donald Trump’s recent tariff threats and attacks on Canada, calling his behavior “juvenile” and “idiotic.”
Trump has proposed a 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican goods, blaming both countries for issues like migration and fentanyl.
Ontario officials warned of potential retaliation, such as barring U.S. alcohol purchases or restricting electricity exports.
Trump’s remarks, including mocking Prime Minister Trudeau as “governor” of Canada, have escalated tensions ahead of trade negotiations.
… so why are all the American media and tech firms sucking up to him? Surely they know better! /s
Yeah, no shit. At least someone is stating the obvious rather than being too afraid of the dipshit to say anything to begin with.

He IS a member of government even being a back bencher. He votes on legislation and is a member of parliament.
Or are you low on oxygen?

As a member of the House of Commons, Angus is roughly equivalent to a US Congressman. He IS a member of Government, and DOES play a role in lawmaking.

His party only has 25 seats, so they can’t actually DO anything on their own, they need backing from one of the majority parties.
Liberal (153)
Conservative (119)
Bloc Québécois (33)
New Democratic (25)I think you may be confusing him for a member of a smaller party with no official status:
Green (2)
Independent (4)Imagine having more than two (both right wing) parties 🥹

Please educate yourself on the nature of a “Parliamentary Government” before continuing to state that a member of parlaiment is not a member of government.

Canada - Leader of the political party that has the support of a majority in the House of Commons of Canada is appointed Prime Minister of Canada by the Governor General of Canada, who then appoints the Cabinet of Canada on the advice of the Prime Minister
Respectfully, please educate yourself first.

The Government of Canada (French: Gouvernement du Canada) is the body responsible for the federal administration of Canada. The term Government of Canada refers specifically to the executive, which includes ministers of the Crown (together in the Cabinet) and the federal civil service (whom the Cabinet direct); it is alternatively known as His Majesty’s Government (French: Gouvernement de Sa Majesté) and is corporately branded as the Government of Canada.[1][2] There are over 100 departments and agencies, as well as over 300,000 persons employed in the Government of Canada. These institutions carry out the programs and enforce the laws established by the Parliament of Canada.
Emphasis mine. In the Canadian political system only members of the executive are part of the national government. Non-government MPs are only part of the legislature, which is not the same thing.

The Cabinet of Canada (French: Cabinet du Canada) is a body of ministers of the Crown that, along with the Canadian monarch, and within the tenets of the Westminster system, forms the government of Canada.
Trump thinks that the U.S. buying more from Canada is a “subsidy”. In reality it means that they need us more than we need them(a lot of what they buy is our oil). This will hurt the States more AND I have to hope that their conservative policy will also fuck up our oil sales leading to Alberta finally having to realize that it needs a personality beyond just destroying its environment and being terrible to minorities. One can only dream.
When the voters decided that a functioning brain was no longer a requirement to be president, I feel like this kind of stuff was inevitable.
I’m holding out hope that he soon meets his fate in the form of one especially significant hamberder.
Covid would have taken him if it wasn’t for that pesky, dreadful public healthcare he received when he was President.
A shame.
I’m still hoping for him to experience a stroke severe enough to keep him able to experience input but drooling and unable to move or talk.
I wouldn’t wish this to anybody, but I’m willing to make an exception for him.
Vance is infinitely worse. Chaos vs organized malignancy.
hopefully the cult wont follow that choad. chode? chaude? fuck, these jerks are exhausting.
People who voted against Trump: “We know.”
People who voted for Trump: “Hell yeah, we know!”
People who sat it out: but genocide! Oh…
Charlie is right to say so.
