Exactly. He did this early and brought up the Recess Appointment trick to see which Republicans were loyal to him and which ones weren’t.

In the end, it doesn’t matter whether Gaetz or Bondi is AG, or who is SecDef. His appointments will destroy the institutions they are appointed to run. That’s the point of Project 2025, after all. But Trump now has an enemies list of Republican Senators when the FBI, IRS, and other agencies are turned into fully weaponized institutions.

You see, Biden is worried about Democrats being unfairly targeted, but Trump is absolutely going after Republicans first. Heck, simply putting Senator Thune on the TSA “Free Prostate Exams for life” list might get him to cave and put the Senate into recess.

I just hope he subverts enough, and descecrates enough, that other people’s whose whole lives have been government institutions say fuck it and revolt. We dont know what will happen in modern day during a time when human erasers are more accessible than doctors.

As part of a conversation about the chances of Fox News personality Pete Hegseth surviving long enough to get to a Senate hearing on his nomination

As in his nomination surviving, not the man himself, right? I mean, considering recent events, it might be worth it to have a conversation about either.

Yet another sad indicator of the state we’re in, that the blunder is giving the senate enough time to find out how shitty the nominee is, rather than picking a shitty nominee.
