We just took our first step and cancelled Netflix! It’s a small thing compared to some of you, but we’re here to stay! Becoming more and more aware and striving to buy European!
cough kodi cough realdebrid cough
Every single step towards IT independance is good to take, while some can afford to ditch Windows for Linux, erase all their subscriptions, it’s not as easy for others. Every cent that they don’t make from us is the better.
Still have the moral dilemma of cancelling my WoW subscription 😭😭
Out of spite against blizzard I started using private WoW servers a few months ago.
I settled on one called Chromiecraft for several reasons:
- The server code Is open source.
- It has a huge European presence.
- Non profit.
Oh my god, you’re god-sent, I cancelled my WoW sub 3 days ago, tried to go on Stormforge private server but had to many issues with the client and such but it wasn’t focused toward Linux users. I will try Chromiecraft as soon as I can tonight !!
Canadian here. We cancelled Netflix and all of our Apple services.
It’s the churn that will really hurt the U.S. companies when they realize the only ones buying their products are Americans, and in order to appease their share holders they’ll need to have price increases more often and much higher.
Keep it up. Vote with your wallet.
There are a couple of streaming services in Europe. It seems that most of them are targeted at specific countries, but still.
I have enjoyed a Norwegian one with mainly Norwegian content and BritBox, with a little bit of Hollywood stuff sprinkled on top.
Does anyone know of a recommendation engine as robust as Netflix? Trying to talk my wife into canceling, but it’s very good at suggesting new content, which is hard to let go of.
I’ve been liking www.justwatch.com a lot
