

Ohhh is that because the Audi 5000, unlike the European version (Audi 100) had “unintended acceleration” as a feature? Which actually turned out to be that the pedals were closer to each other than some Americans were accustomed to, so in some super rare cases it would accelerate while the driver thought they were hitting the brakes? And then 60 minutes “demonstrated” it with a rigged car and it took decades for Americans to trust Audi again.
